I erased my c:drive by mistake; any advice on retrieving the files?

I ran my Sony Vaio Recovery Wizard in attempt to set my computer back to a previous date. Unfortunately, I accidentally erased all the files I have accumulated over the last 2 years on my c: drive, including valuable pictures and all applications I have placed on my computer. Any advice on how to retrieve these files??

Your screwed on the applications, unless you have the CD's... but the pictures may be recoverable... there are tools out there for recovering deleted files, as long as the sector of the HDD hasn't been re-written over that contained those files. Undelete is one such program, and Symantec has a couple of tools that do the same thing
Reply:Take it to someone professional for them to recover. My experience is that you get one crack at this sort of thing and most of the recovery software you can buy doesn't work like it advertises. Also don't use the PC at all until you have recovered the stuff. You will overwrite files every time its used as the OS will write files as well asyou saving them. Hope you can get it fixed. Thre is a lesson for us all in BACKING UP DATA.
Reply:You have some hope if you have not started reusing your C: drive one more time, i prefer you to do a complete system restore using the feature available in Windows.Perhaps that's the best way if you wanna get your data back without much effor t and pocket draining.

Or else you can use professional restoring software that's available on the market, well my advice is don't use trial versions of these software since they recover 1/3rd of the system and leave the rest to you incase you wanna buy them.

Thanks,
