I locked a folder in F Drive by a file hiding software. My bro formatted C Drive & I lost my folder. What to do?

I had locked a folder of approximately 5 GB containing many useful and important data. I had locked this folder in F: Drive and forgot to back up. My brother unknowingly formatted the C: Drive including the system files and installed a new version of XP.

All other folders in D:, E:, and F: Drives are safe. The adjacent folders to the locked one are also safe. But I am unable to see the folder which I had locked. I had re-installed the software but still I am unable to see my folder. Had it also been formatted? If yes, then why? My brother had formatted only C: Drive.

My F: Drive has a capacity of 40 GB. When measured individually, the present folders constitute 32 GB. In properties, I can see the used space as 37 GB.

Does it mean that my folder of 5 GB is still present but invisible? Can I access to it by any way. It has many important and precious documents.

Please help. Show me some way to get my folder back. I am now at your mercy. I must thank you all my life for this.
